Boeing Approval For Solar Atmospheres Of California
Solar Atmospheres of California (SCA) has earned approval by Boeing to perform heat treating services. The quality procedures at Solar, a leader in the vacuum heat treating and brazing industry, are critical to both Boeing and its contractors. Solar’s newest heat treating plant in Fontana, CA passed an intensive 2-day Quality System Audit by Boeing personnel with zero findings.
SCA’s scope of approval includes BAC 5613 (Heat Treatment of Titanium Alloys) for Boeing. The Fontana plant joins a distinguished group of suppliers in the thermal processing industry supporting Boeing’s increasing use of Titanium in the design of new advanced fuel-efficient aircraft.
“Our perfect score under an accelerated audit schedule is a testament to our strong commitment and dedication to quality,” said Solar Atmospheres of California’s Quality Manager Mike Moffit. President of SCA, Derek Dennis adds, “We are proud of this achievement and excited to provide top quality heat treating services not only to Boeing, but also other aerospace customers and customers in other industries on the west coast who require more stringent quality standards.”
The Boeing approval comes on the heels of SCA’s Nadcap accreditation and AS9100 / ISO 9001:2008 certification. In its pursuit of excellence, the Fontana is currently working on other prime aerospace approvals.
