William Jones Presents Webinar on Vacuum Furnace Temperature Measurement

Souderton, PA. February 9, 2014 – Heat transfer in a vacuum furnace takes place via radiation from the furnace heating elements to the workload being processed. Accurate temperature measurement of both the furnace hot-zone and the materials being processed is critical for a successful heat treat cycle. Various types of thermocouples are used to monitor and control the furnace temperature as well as to record the workload temperature during a typical heat treating process.

A February 5th ASM International Webinar, presented by CEO of Solar Atmospheres William R. Jones through the ASM website, addressed the various problems and solutions to accurately measuring the temperature in a vacuum furnace.
